Moet & Chandon Bar Dubai Airport

Moet & Chandon Bar DXB

A few years ago when I was passing through Dubai on business, I passed through the Emirates Business Class Lounge in Concourse B. While registering, the hostess asked me if I had tried the Moet & Chandon bar Dubai Airport. She gave me directions and I set off in search of the Moet bar.

I’d been flying through Dubai International Airport for years and had never heard of the airport Moet & Chandon bar. Apparently, to recognize 25 years of business between Emirates and Moet & Chandon they built a Champagne bar in Concourse B.

I was quite familiar with the layout of the business class lounge and I must admit that previously when I’d walked as far as the children’s playground, I’d turned back.

The Bar

This time, after a few minutes walking further, I finally came to the Moet & Chandon bar. First impression was that it was quiet. I don’t think many travelers know it exists.

The Lounge is an excellent place to relax, every time I have visited since it has been remarkably quite. The design of the Lounge is aesthetically very relaxing. There was always 1 member of staff on hand to serve Champagne or give advice on pairing canapé.

The Champagne

The Lounge serves four types of Moet & Chandon Champagne:

Möet Impérial – The ‘classic‘, named in honor of Napoleon. 30-40% Pinot Noir, 30-40% Pinot Meunier, 20-30% Chardonnay. Blended from over 100 wines.

Möet Rosé Impérial – 40-50% Pinot Noir, 30-40% Pinot Meunier, 10-20% Chardonnay. Blended from over 100 wines. Dosage: 9g/ltr

Nectar Impérial – 40-50% Pinot Noir, 30-40% Pinot Meunier, 10-20% Chardonnay. Blended from over 100 wines. Dosage: 45g/ltr. The blend uses 20-30% reserve wines.

Grand Vintage 2009 – The vintage Champagne is only produced in exceptional years. This was the 73rd Grand Vintage. 50% Pinot Noir, 14% Pinot Meunier, 36% Chardonnay. Dosage: 5g/ltr. Disgorged after 6 months and aged for 7 years.

Grand Vintage 2012 – The 74th Grand Vintage. On our last visit, the Lounge had replaced the 2009 Grand Vintage with the 2012 Grand Vintage. 33% Pinot Noir, 26% Pinot Meunier, 41% Chardonnay. Dosage: 5g/ltr. Disgorged after 6 months and aged for 5 years.

The Lounge also serves the same top quality red and white wines found in the main business lounge.

Note that there is no hot food available in the Lounge and there are no toilets.

Food Pairing

There are 4 different canapé designed to complement each of the 4 different Champagnes. We are not fans of sweeter Champagnes and we have learned to be careful with eating the canapé for the Nectar Impérial paired with a dry champagne, usually it does not work.

If you are passing through Dubai International Airport concourse B or if you have a long lay-over between flights, it is well worth visiting the Moet & Chandon Bar in the B terminal business lounge.
